The journal is a result of a collective effort by editors and contributors from various universities across Iran, who seek to publish articles related to Semiotics. Currently the journal publishes articles on semiotics that have been written either by Iranian researchers or by foreign authors on topics that have gained attention in Iran such as semiotic research in the Middle East, semiotic theory and its applications, and semiotics of media such as movies and TV shows (e.g. Game of Thrones), sports, and events. There is a special interest in the semiotic analysis of Persian poetry, Persian language and Islamic semiotics. https://www.academia.edu/1928477/Karmakar-Wedda-Symbolism This source discusses, analyses and explains semiosis in the poem “Wedda” by Karmakar Showghi. The analysis of the main symbols of this text helps to understand what is going on from a semiotic perspective from various layers that are possible to draw from this text. The poem is about an encounter between a woman and a soldier in the Persian Gulf region, where the man has just lost his comrade in arms, who was killed by the enemy. The woman appears as a signifier of love, which looks for its lost origins, but it does not only seek to reaffirm its own existence because it also make use of the signifier as a tool to understand itself. https://www.academia. cfa1e77820
